Good quality, very heavy, late 19th century cast iron doorstop in an elaborate design of two stylised entwinined fish on a base of seashells with the grip at the top also decorated with shells.

The reverse is impressed with '470' denoting the model number C1880 (images 5&7)

This example is illustrated in the 1876 Catalogue for  ‘Archibald Kenrick, Ironfounder of West Bromwich’  

In excellent condition
