Tiny portrait of a little girl with a pale blue off the shoulder dress with gilt buttons
Before the early 20th century, it was common for mothers to dress boys in a 'masculine' colour like pink in order to grow into a more manly individual later in life.
Girls were dressed in a more 'feminine' alternative like blue!
In the early 20th century this was reversed
Most babies wore white as this was so much easier to launder
Slight distress to the edges of the frame
Dimensions: Height 11cm, width 9.5cm, depth 1cm
